Legal stories are breaking fast and furious. This video takes on three recent legal developments:
Sidney Powell, former attorney for the former president, failed to appear, in violation of a subpoena, before the Georgia state grand jury investigating the election crimes of Donald Trump. Do we have a runner?
The Washington Post reports that Department of Justice prosecutors are leaning toward not indicting Representative Matt Gaetz, who has long been under investigation for possible sex trafficking. The problem for Gaetz is, he asked for a blanket pardon for all crimes he committed, which is no doubt of keen interest to federal prosecutors. So Gaetz is far from being in the clear.
Special Master Judge Raymond Dearie has painted Trump criminal defense attorneys into a corner by demanding that they directly answer some question: did Trump actually declassify any documents, and are they claiming that the FBI planted any documents at Mar-a-Lago. Trump’s lawyers are losing points by the day and would be well advised to withdraw their request for a special master.
