The leading cause of death among children in the United States is gun-related violence. Research shows that guns are tied to an average of a dozen deaths among U.S. children each day.
Most recently, the story of a six-year-old boy shooting his teacher captured the attention of the country, as the age of the child and his access to a firearm both shocked and perturbed Americans.
