“Kriegieland: Conversations with ex-POWs” interview with George Ott of the U.S. Army Air Force during the Second World War. A member of the 92nd Bomber Group, Ott was shot down on “Black Thursday,” October 14, 1943, near Schweinfurt, Germany. He was imprisoned at Stalag Luft 3 and was liberated in April 1945. George Leo Ott was born near New England, North Dakota, on 26 August 1919 and died on 7 October 2016 in Denver, Colorado.
