Nearly 18-thousand people were murdered in South Africa between April 2014 and March 2015. 83% of the country’s population reported serious crimes against them. But Police minister Nathi Nhleko insists crime is not out of control. This was his response to questions by MP’s on Parliament’s police portfolio committee, who were interrogating him about this year’s crime statistics.
