The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has obtained a six-day remand order against two members of the police motorcycle patrol unit (URB).

They are suspected of soliciting and accepting a bribe from two men linked to a drug trafficking case in Bayan Lepas.

Magistrate Siti Nurul Suhaila Baharin issued the remand order, effective until April 25, following a request by MACC earlier today.

Sources alleged that the suspects demanded RM1,500 from two men apprehended by residents at a condominium in Bayan Lepas for suspected drug distribution.

One of the men reportedly lodged a complaint at the Penang MACC office, leading to the arrest of both suspects last night.

Penang MACC director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrests.
