This video was provided to Maine’s Total Coverage by the attorneys representing Justin Savage, who has sued the Maine State Police over claims he was unlawfully and assaulted and beaten by the troopers who arrested him on March 16, 2024.
Savage was charged with domestic violence assault, assault on a police officer, refusing to submit to arrest and disorderly conduct. The charges, however, were dropped on April 15, 2025.
The Maine State Police has determined the use of force in this case was lawful, justified and proper based on the circumstances, resulting in exonerating the officers.
