Understanding Your Rights Against Police Demands | Criminal Lawyer Reacts #news #legalexploration
Oklahoma does not have a stop and identify statute that requires citizens to identify themselves to police officers. However. Section 21, 500, and 40 of the Oklahoma statute states that Quote, any person who willfully delays or obstructs any public officer in the discharge or attempt to discharge any duty of his or her office is guilty of a misdemeanor. And as this statute does not require physical obstruction in order to sustain a conviction, it is conceivable that an individual could be charged with obstruction for refusing to identify themselves under certain circumstances.
