A new investigation has found there were ‘systemic police failings’ from South Yorkshire Police in the way they handled the Rotherham child sex abuse scandal.
Despite the findings of serious failings of the police the investigation also highlighted that not a single officer had lost their job as a result, that is also despite the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) upholding dozens of complaints against the force.
“The police were afraid of being accused of racism.”
Afua Hagan says more police officers should have lost their jobs over the failings.
