On March 8, 2025, a 29-year-old suspect named Justin entered a Walmart and went from register to register requesting change for a $100 bill, though he never actually produced the bill. After a cashier refused, he began ripping cash drawers from their mounted location and smashing them on the floor. He destroyed a total of 10 cash drawers, picked up money off the floor, and left the scene. As an officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department arrived on scene, an employee pointed at the suspect.

While in custody at Bayfront Hospital, the suspect made dozens of threats to kill officers once he gets out of jail.

In the end, Justin was charged with robbery, resisting without violence, and threatening a public servant. As of the time of recording, he remains in custody and his motion to reduce his $30,000 bond was denied.
