Phoenix police say 69-year-old Hugh Brand was intending to rape a teenage girl, kill her and dump her body.
Court documents say Brand was making plans with a prostitute he had contacted before.
Those documents say police listened in on conversations where Brand said he was going to pay the prostitute to find him a teen.
His bond has been set at $2 million.
