Malappuram: The Crime Branch has said that the police had committed lapses in the case of child abuse inside a theatre at Edappal. The preliminary investigation by the Crime Branch has found that the police team who probed the case initially committed lapses. The Crime Branch officials have recorded the statement of the theatre owner and three employees. The case was handed over to Crime Branch after a controversy erupted over the arrest of the theatre owner who informed the incident of child abuse to Childline. DySP Santosh Ullas Kumar is probing the case under the supervision of SP Santosh Kumar. Police have collected the statements given by the four witnesses in the case at Perinthalmanna court.
