Can you physically fight back against a police officer who is making an unlawful arrest?! I get this question all the time, and the answer, in most states, is absolutely NOT!
Most states, including Tennessee, do not allow you to resist even an unlawful arrest. I will never suggest that you physically fight a police officer on the street. If a cop is abusive or uses excessive force, we will have to fight that in the courtroom!
