During one of my regular walks through Columbia Heights in Washington, D.C., I encountered police activity taking place inside a 7-Eleven on 14th Street NW.
This video documents the scene as observed from a customer area within the store. No assumptions are made about the circumstances. It is simply a real-time moment in the life of the neighborhood, captured as part of an ongoing practice of walking and recording the city as it reveals itself.
My walks usually focus on architecture, daily rhythms, and the quieter beauty of the city. Occasionally, however, urban life reveals more tense and unscripted realities — also part of the civic landscape.
