On Monday, January 11, 2016 at approximately 2153 hours, Police Officer Delacruz and Police Officer Gomez assigned to the 46th Precinct Anti-Crime Unit were conducting routine patrol in an unmarked patrol car in the vicinity of Featherbed Lane and Nelson Avenue when they heard a gunshot and saw people running from the location. The officers proceeded toward the direction of the gunshot and upon arriving at the intersection, the officers observed a male holding the weapon and discharging another shot. The officers immediately followed the suspect at which time officers exited their vehicle, identified themselves as police officers as they approached the suspect and ordered the suspect not to move. The suspect complied and the officers placed 31-year-old male under arrest in front of 1536 Nelson Avenue without incident. A loaded .357 caliber Ruger stainless steel revolver was recovered from the suspect.
