“The police have been bothering us for a fortnight, every day, every morning, every noon, every evening.”

Hundreds of sub-Saharan migrants looking to start a better life in Europe have been stuck in limbo for years in Casablanca, Morocco.

Migrants have set up a makeshift camp on the edge of the coastal port city and continuously face police violence, hunger and racism from locals.

In 2022, Moroccan police detained more than 32,000 migrants and arrested 566 people suspected of involvement in people trafficking, according to official figures.
