The story is about Michael Nielsen, who discovers that his wife Wanda cheated on him and that their twin daughters are not his biological children. Michael, a successful businessman, decides to divorce Wanda and takes steps to protect his assets. He moves his money to offshore accounts and sets up a new life for himself, planning to leave the country. During the divorce proceedings, Michael faces a biased judge, Marie Matthews, who is known for her harsh treatment of men in divorce cases. Despite the judge’s attempts to penalize him, Michael refuses to pay child support or alimony, arguing that the children are not his and that Wanda should be responsible for her own actions. After serving time in jail for contempt of court, Michael is released and starts working at a Taco Bell to make payments while secretly planning his escape. He eventually leaves the country with his lawyer, who is also his new wife, and starts a new life in Costa Rica, leaving his old life and debts behind. Meanwhile, Judge Matthews faces her own humiliation when her wife cheats on her, and she is now paying child support and maintenance.
