IMLU’S DEMANDS SWIFT INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATIONS INTO POLICE BRUTALITY

The Independent Medico-Legal Unit has called for urgent and swift independent investigations into all deaths, abductions, and allegations of torture of civilians by police officers. While launching its investigative report on extensive human rights violations during the ‘’Gen z-led’’ protests of 2024, IMLU said while a few junior officers have been prosecuted in high-profile cases such as the murder of lawyer Willie Kimani,most violations go unpunished.
