A Crown Heights Hatzolah member is in the hospital after being stabbed in the back by a person familiar with the victim.

Binyomin Lifshitz of Crown Heights Shomrim said that the victim was on Eastern Parkway near Rogers Avenue when a male black came up from behind and stabbed him in the back at approximately 8:30 PM. There were no words exchanged according to Lifshutz. The assailant fled towards Nostrand Avenue.

The 34 year old victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was treated for a 3 to 4 inch stab type of wounds and was stitched up by doctors. Victims spoke with police.

“He is alert, conscious and walking,” said Lifshitz.
It is unknown if anything was said during the incident.

The assailant, is believed to have been wearing a black hoodie and may have been wearing a mask at the time of the attack.

Dozens of police officers were on the scene. NYPD is treating this incident as a hate crime. Surveillance cams are being checked by NYPD.

Annual Chabad shluchim conference is taking place this weekend and the police will add extra security.
