An alleged police shooting of a 21-year old man in Wewak, East Sepik Province on February 05th, 2026, was never reported to police until Monday, 23rd February when a formal complaint was filed at the Wewak Police station.
The delay in filing the formal complaint was allegedly because of intimidation and threats from officers involved in the killing, leading to relatives not reporting the matter.
Family Spokesman and uncle of the deceased, Andrias Hombo formally filed the report last week and today, through a media conference in Port Moresby, called for police in Wewak to suspend and arrest the officer involved.#pngnews #tvwanonline #tvwannews #digiceltv #digicel #bettertogether
