Police have arrested two officers in the Johannesburg city centre for alleged bribery. The two officers had apparently arrested a foreign national with an expired passport and were escorting him to a long-distance bus to leave the country after accepting a R3000 bribe.
Senior police officials who were doing a walk-about at the Wanderers taxi rank as part of the police’s Easter safety campaign, were alerted to the incident and arrested the officers.
