Last week, Providence Police pulled four men out of their car at gunpoint. They detained the men, tackling and body slamming one of them to the ground and punching him in the head multiple times before cuffing him.
At the same time, many ICE cars had been circling the Garrahy courthouse for nearly two hours attempting to kidnap community members. When an ICE agent saw the police beating up our neighbor, he temporarily stopped harassing immigrants and attempted to jump into the pile of cops beating the man on the ground.
CONTEXT;
You’ve got the footage, and honestly, the images speak louder than any police report ever could. What you’re seeing is a heavy-handed felony stop right outside the Garrahy courthouse that goes from zero to a hundred in seconds. Providence Police pulled these four guys out of their car at gunpoint, claiming there was a “BOLO” or a report of a weapon, (HOWEVER WE SAW NOTHING OF THE SORT WHEN WE REQUESTED THE CAD FOR THAT ENTIRE DAY) but as the camera rolls, you’ll notice that things get violent fast. One man ends up body-slammed and punched in the head multiple times while he’s already being pinned down by several officers.
The wildest part of this video isn’t just the local cops, though. Keep an eye on the ICE agents who had been circling the block for hours. When the chaos starts, one of them actually stops what he’s doing and jumps right into the pile of officers beating the man on the ground. It raises a massive red flag about why a federal immigration agent is getting involved in a local scuffle, especially when no gun was ever found and the “threat” seemed to be a total ghost. These people were there many times over the last year showing their support for the immigrants inside.
We’re putting this out there because the official story just doesn’t match the reality on the pavement. Was there really a report of a gun, or was this just a coordinated way to lean on people near the courthouse? We sure couldn’t find anything of the sort. Watch the movement, check the tactics, and see the escalation for yourself. We aren’t here to spin it—we’re just showing you the raw evidence so you can decide if this was “protecting and serving” or just a straight-up ambush.
These disgusting acts of police and ICE brutality continue to show that both police and ICE are racist occupying forces in our neighborhoods. The cops and ICE are the domestic terrorists!
