The resolution impeaching Thomas includes three items. The first concerns his alleged failure to “disclose financial income, gifts and compensation, property interests, liabilities, and transactions, among other information.”

The second concerns his refusal to recuse himself from matters involving his spouse’s legal interests in cases pending before the Court. The third is for failing to recuse himself from matters involving his spouse’s financial interests.

The resolution impeaching Alito includes two items. One concerns his failure to recuse himself from cases in which he allegedly had “personal bias or bias in relation to a party to the proceedings before the Court.” The second concerns his alleged failure to “disclose financial income, gifts and compensation, property interests, liabilities, and transactions, among other information.”

“The unchecked corruption crisis at the Supreme Court has now escalated into a constitutional crisis that threatens American democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a statement.

She continued, “Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s pattern of refusing to recuse themselves from consequential issues before the court in which they hold widely documented financial and personal entanglements constitutes a grave threat to American rule of law, the integrity of our democracy, and one of the clearest instances for which the tool of impeachment was designed.”
