“DOMESTIC ABUSE RESPONSE TEAM”
Lt. Julie Pleasant with the Houston Police Department’s Domestic Abuse Response Team (D.A.R.T.). explains how a team consisting of an officer and victim advocate assist patrol by responding to domestic violence calls, offering immediate follow-up to ensure the victim is safe. They also offer referrals, document evidence and ensure the victim is assisted throughout the criminal justice process.
