Police in Berlin carried out a forceful crackdown across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, moving in on peaceful pro-Palestinian protests and arresting demonstrators, including minors.

Footage from multiple days shows officers forcing people to the ground, dragging them away and aggressively restraining them.

The demonstrations remained non-violent before police intervened.

During one arrest, a protester said they were being targeted for being Palestinian and because authorities are committed to partaking in the genocide.

The repeated scenes across the weekend have intensified criticism of German authorities, with growing scrutiny over the use of force against pro-Palestinian protesters as Israel continues its genocide in Gaza, and its onslaught on neighbouring countries.

Germany has long faced mounting criticism for its political and military support for Israel during the genocide, including arms exports and diplomatic backing, while authorities at home have moved to restrict and suppress pro-Palestinian demonstrations.

Critics argue the combination of foreign policy and domestic policing reflects a broader effort to silence dissent.
