A teenage boy is dead after being shot by police in Surrey, B.C. on Sunday afternoon.
Family and neighbours say the victim, 15-year-old Chase, was a student at Clayton Heights Secondary and was neurodiverse.
The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) says 2:40 p.m. Surrey RCMP responded to reports of a person with a weapon near an elementary school.
