Listen to this talk about consumer fraud and common scams and forms of fraud. Jennifer Pardini will provide practical tips on how to recognize scams and protect yourself. She will also provide information on referral sources such as where to report fraud and where to get help.

Jennifer and Sean Casey will also discuss AI (Artificial Intelligence) and its effect on scams against older adults.

Jenny Pardini is the Community Education Coordinator at Legal Assistance for Seniors. LAS is contracted to run the Medicare counseling program known as HICAP in Alameda County. She holds a BA in French from San Francisco State University, has a background in education, and is a certified HICAP counselor. She works with all the teams in her agency to bring essential Medicare and legal information to older adults, caregivers, and senior service providers in Alameda County.

Sean Casey has brought over 25 years of Information Security experience to Patelco for the past four years. Interoperating with the Fraud Prevention and Community Outreach teams, he has been presenting to the community on these topics for the past two years.

In December 2019, Ashby Village expanded to Richmond. July 1, 2020 North Oakland Village merged with Ashby Village.
