Memories of big white men in uniform beating young black boys to a pulp. Sometimes til they’re bleeding. And they spray harsh chemicals in their eyes. And there’s no consequences. They lie and say the boys were resisting arrest. They lie and say the boys are suspicious or doing suspicious activities. Later on in life, I found out the police are actually in gangs and they beat and harass and target black boys on purpose. The memories are stained in my head forever.
