I am a 63‑year‑old American professor and UAE Golden Visa holder who was brutally assaulted, injured, and wrongfully jailed by the United Arab Emirates 999 emergency police in Abu Dhabi. Now, I believe the United Arab Emirates is DANGEROUS for all FOREIGN PROFESSIONAL WOMEN especially for SENIOR CITIZENS with a UAE GOLDEN VISA like me. The UAE EMBASSY in Bangkok- their operator never answers their phone despite my many calls during the past 2 weeks. Abu Dhabi pathetic police and judiciary have not refunded my 5,200 aed dirhams “get out of jail” bail money,
Essentially, I was beaten by the 999 emergency police in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque parking lot by the same non-English speaking police I phoned for URGENT assistance and the Abu Dhabi judiciary kept my bail money- almost $2,000 usd after they wrongfully beat & jailed me – then cancelled their FALSE criminal charges against me.

أعتقد الآن أن الإمارات العربية المتحدة تشكل خطرًا على جميع النساء الأجنبيات العاملات، وخاصةً كبار السن من حاملي تأشيرة الإقامة الذهبية مثلي. سفارة الإمارات في بانكوك – لا يرد موظف الاستقبال على الهاتف رغم اتصالاتي المتكررة خلال الأسبوعين الماضيين. لم تُردّ لي شرطة وقضاء أبوظبي مبلغ الكفالة البالغ 5200 درهم إماراتي الذي دفعته لإخراجي من السجن.
لا احترام يُذكر للنساء الأجنبيات المسنات في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

✈️ وصلتُ إلى أبوظبي على كرسي متحرك في 27 أكتوبر على متن رحلة مصر للطيران إلى القاهرة، قبل ثلاثة أيام فقط من هذا الحادث العنيف. ما كان من المفترض أن يكون زيارة سلمية تحوّل إلى كابوس من وحشية الشرطة والاعتقال التعسفي.
