Protest in Mehar: Family of Jawad Dahir Accuses Dadu Police of Staged Encounter; Appeals for Justice with the Holy Quran!

The family of Jawad Dahir, a resident of Bothro Village near Mehar, staged a massive protest at the Mehran Press Club today. Women and youth from the family, including Jawad’s mother Shabiran Dahir, alongside Zainab, Basran, Hanif, and Fawad Dahir, carried the Holy Quran in their hands, seeking justice against what they call “unprecedented police brutality.”
I. Allegations of Home Invasion and Looting
The Raid: The family alleged that two days ago, a large force of police from Dadu, Johi, and other stations raided their village.
Violence: They accused the police of entering their homes, violating the sanctity of the household, and physically assaulting women, children, and men.
Theft: The protesters claimed that police officials committed looting during the raid, taking away gold, cash, mobile phones, poultry, and other valuable items after vandalizing the property.
II. The “Staged” Encounter
Arrest without Charge: The family stated that Jawad Dahir was picked up from his home without any prior criminal record or case.
The Shooting: They allege the police took him to the jurisdiction of the Johi Police Station, shot and injured him, and subsequently declared it a “police encounter” to justify the arrest.
III. Call for Action and Warning of Blockade
Legal Action: The Dahir family announced they will file a formal case in court against the officers involved in this “barbaric” act.
Highway Blockade: They warned that if justice is not served, they will block the Indus Highway, cutting off all traffic.
Appeal to Authorities: The protesters urged the SSP Dadu, DIG Hyderabad, IG Sindh, and the honorable courts to take immediate notice of the illegal arrest and the staged encounter of Jawad Dahir.
