Summary from Police Report:

On 9/28/23, at approximately 2316 hours, the Force Investigation Team was called out related to an incident that occurred at 1638 hours at 3810 Marysville Boulevard, Sacramento, CA (Rainbow Market) in SPD District 2B. FIT responded to the SPD Kinney Station, where Sergeant Tony Yager #3001 briefed the incident. FIT was provided with the following information.

On 9/28/23, at approximately 1638 hours, SPD dispatched received a call from Victim stating that her husband, Daron Knight, pulled a gun on her during an argument. The victim told dispatch that Daron was at the Rainbow Market in a maroon Ford Mustang, and she was waiting for police across the street at Viva Market.

SPD Air 1 was able to observe a male subject matching the description of the suspect, walk from the suspect vehicle into the market. Air 1 described the suspect as using crutches. Officers Hernandez, Oldes, and Ruberg went into the market and made contact with Daron. Daron was standing at the check-out counter making a purchase and refused to identify himself to officers. Officers told Daron he was being detained, and when they grabbed his hands, he immediately pulled away from officers and actively resisted their efforts to detain him. Officer Oldes was able to control Daron to the ground with the assistance of Officers Hernandez and Ruberg. Officers were able to get Daron into handcuffs without further incident.

Daron complained of chest pain and pain to his right hip. Daron was transported to UCDMC by the SFD. While at UCDMC, an x-ray revealed that Daron sustained a fracture to upper portion of his femur, near his hip. Daron told SFD that he was , but is able to walk.

Once medically cleared for incarceration from UCDMC, Daron will be booked for violations of 243(e)(1) PC, 245(a)(1) PC, 245(a)(2) PC, 29800 PC and 148(a)(1) PC.

Based on information provided by the victim, her and Daron were experiencing homelessness and living in their Ford Mustang.
