The heartbreaking story of 22-year-old engineering graduate Udit Gayake has shaken the conscience of India. What began as a night of celebration for his first job turned into a nightmare that ended in his death.
According to reports, two police constables in Bhopal’s Indrapuri area allegedly demanded ₹10,000 from Udit and his friends. When Udit refused, they stripped and brutally beat him with sticks, causing severe internal injuries. Soon after, Udit collapsed and began vomiting blood. Despite being rushed to AIIMS Bhopal, he was declared dead.
The post-mortem report revealed traumatic hemorrhagic pancreatitis due to blunt-force trauma, confirming the severity of the assault. Initially, an FIR with “mild force” was filed, sparking outrage across Madhya Pradesh and the country. Massive protests erupted demanding murder charges, suspension of officers, and a CBI/SIT probe.
