French journalist Luc Auffret captured dramatic footage of police and protesters fighting in the streets of Paris on Thursday, September 18. The intense clashes took place on Boulevard Voltaire and at Place de la Nation in central Paris. French citizens were protesting a range of topics including the rising cost of living, budget cuts, and lack of funding for school and hospital staff. Police arrested 309 people during the nationwide demonstrations.
