Indonesia Protest: Indonesia is facing its worst unrest in a decade, after mass protests over lavish perks for lawmakers spiraled into nationwide anger against police brutality. At least six people have been killed since last week, following the circulation of shocking footage showing a young delivery driver being killed by paramilitary police. Rights group KontraS has reported that at least 20 people are missing across major cities including Jakarta, Bandung, and Depok. The United Nations has urged an independent probe into the alleged use of disproportionate force, while President Prabowo Subianto has been forced into a U-turn on the controversial perks just 10 months into his term. With the military deployed in Jakarta and fresh clashes erupting outside parliament, Indonesia is at a crossroads as protesters demand accountability and justice.
