Huge amount of cash was reportedly found at Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma’s house. The Supreme Court has ordered an inquiry in this matter, but corruption by judges is the darkest side of Indian judiciary. At least 1,631 complaints were made against various judges in last 5 years. No one knows if any judge was found to be corrupt or not and if any action was taken against him/her. Apart from that, the scope of action against judges is also very limited. High Court and Supreme Court judges can either resign or be impeached by the Parliament. Is that fair? Should the judiciary be made more accountable?
