The Whistleblower House (TWBH) was invited by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on an overseas learning journey to Serbia and Lithuania for critical discussions on whistleblower protection. We engaged with NGOs, judiciary representatives, and government officials to examine how whistleblowers are supported and the challenges they face. Additionally, we attended the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC), where discussions focused on whistleblowing as a critical tool for accountability.
A key takeaway from this journey is that retaliation against whistleblowers remains a global concern, underscoring the urgent need for stronger protections. This experience also highlighted the value of knowledge-sharing and cross-border collaboration in strengthening ethical frameworks.
