Today, we are looking into a case from North Rose, New York, where Steve Hindi, the President of S.H.A.R.K. (showing animals’ respect and kindness) and his crew were lawfully flying their drone over Marshall Farms, a facility that breeds beagle puppies for experimentation.

Security didn’t like what they were doing even though it was completely legal. They called the NY state police and the Wayne County Sheriffs office to follow them and pull them over on an illegal traffic stop and detention to get their identities.

With the Police and Sheriff’s Office in their pocket, they gladly obliged; The rest you can see in the video so I won’t elaborate more here. They detained them for over an hour, but when Steve and another fellow activist didn’t ID themselves, they were both arrested but were later released without charges because they didn’t break any laws.

Steve doesn’t take his rights being violated lightly, so he sued both departments. The government stalled as long as they could (7 years, in fact), but Steve won the day with a $100,000 payout. Sadly, the settlement was paid by the taxpayers for these officers’ incompetence.
