A recent incident at Manchester Airport has sparked outrage after a video surfaced showing police officers appearing to assault a detained boy following the use of a taser. In the footage, one officer is seen kicking the young boy in the head and then stamping on the ground and the boy’s head. The same officer also uses his knee to force the boy down while he is lying on the floor. A female police officer at the scene appears visibly shocked by her colleague’s actions.

Greater Manchester Police reported that officers were responding to an altercation between members of the public in Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport. During the arrest of one suspect involved in the earlier altercation, three officers were violently assaulted, with one female officer sustaining a broken nose. Four men were subsequently arrested on charges of affray and assault on emergency service workers. The conduct captured in the video is currently being reviewed by the Professional Standards Directorate.

This incident occurred shortly after a critical report investigating Greater Manchester Police was released. The review, commissioned by city mayor Andy Burnham, highlighted concerns about police behavior and the treatment of individuals, including the unlawful arrest and strip search of several women.
