A former police officer has opened up about his time keeping the UK safe, and the corruption that takes place behind closed doors. ‘Bird’ anonymously gave his story of 25 years in the police. He said he saw officers sleeping with prisoners, colleagues taking drugs, and serious matters swept under the carpet. The Metropolitan Police, in which he served, said it is ‘ruthless’ about seeking out those who broke the law within its ranks and made no apology for evicting those found doing wrong as it seeks to rebuild public trust.
