Allegations of interference and abuse of power have surfaced against KwaZulu-Natal’s Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
According to the City Press, Mkhwanazi is accused of preventing the arrest of a senior Correctional Services official suspected of operating a drug cartel out of Westville Maximum Prison, a facility notorious for housing some of South Africa’s most dangerous criminals.
