❝ How Scammers Use SMS to Break Into Your Bank Account ❞ #smsfraud #spoofingscam #smishing
Have you ever wondered what could happen if you accidentally click on a fake SMS from your bank, the post office or a toll company? Tune in to Daylight Robbery to find out what happens.

I always thought I was too smart to fall for those scams, but after learning these shocking tactics, I realised how easy it is to get trapped. In this video, I explain how sms spoofing, smishing attacks, and fake bank text messages are used by scammers to socially engineer people into handing over the keys to their bank accounts.

You’ll also hear about whaling scams and how mule accounts help scammers move stolen money. This is not just about phishing; it’s about how banks sometimes fail to detect these frauds, leaving customers helpless. If you’re curious about how spoofed sms fraud works and how to protect your money, stay tuned. Make sure to share this with your friends so they can avoid getting scammed too!

Katrina Qian unwittingly clicked on a scam Australia Post text but quickly reported it to her bank. It wasn’t enough to stop the social engineering that allowed scammers to open an entirely new HSBC Global Access Account and steal 33,000 Great British Pounds. ASIC is now investigating HSBC’s systemic failings.

Meanwhile concretor Furkan Colak received a scam in the same thread as his ANZ messages that asked him to transfer money to a randomly generated PAYID that belonged to ANZ bank. His scammers had him transfer money into other ANZ bank accounts to ‘strength test’ his account. The real kicker is that Furkan’s digital bank robbers used ANZ mule accounts to steal his money – and his bank’s fraud detection technology did not pick it up.
