15yo Owns Utah Cops, Fired & Sued!
In Park City Utah USA a 15 year old named Jack Franchek completely owns Park City Police Department cops during a shocking bodycam police encounter that went viral for all the right reasons. What started as a simple neighbor dispute over a gas powered bicycle on September 29 2019 exploded into a full blown first amendment audit and 4th amendment violation when officers James Rodrigues and Sergeant Cameron Thor forced their way into the family home without a warrant or probable cause.
Michael Franchek the father and victim was tackled tasered and arrested inside his own house on bogus charges while his teenage son Jack calmly recorded the entire police misconduct on his phone demanding badge numbers search warrants and repeatedly asserting know your rights. The 15 year old stands his ground saying I have three cops on me and Im 15 years old because you guys intruded my house exposing tyrant cop behavior law enforcement overreach and clear constitutional rights violations in this raw cop watch and audit footage.
After the incident internal affairs confirmed multiple department policy violations. Both officers Rodrigues and Thor were fired for failing to complete required corrective actions. The entire Park City Police Department was forced into First Amendment training. All criminal charges against Michael Franchek were ultimately dropped with no conviction.
Michael Franchek filed a major 1.1 million dollar federal civil rights lawsuit in 2021 under 42 USC 1983 against Park City Utah and the officers for illegal entry excessive force and violations of the First Amendment Fourth Amendment Fifth Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment. That case was stayed pending criminal matters and ended without a public verdict or reported settlement. Then in 2025 Jack Franchek filed his own new federal civil rights lawsuit against the city and same officers for his own claims from the 2019 police encounter. As of 2026 Jacks lawsuit remains active with no final ruling or payout reported.
