A summer camp in Tamil Nadu quietly offers a lifeline to children orphaned by custodial deaths, police shootings, and state violence. Organised by People’s Watch and Manonmani Trust, the camp has been running for over two decades, offering not just activities and friendship but hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Many of the children have lost parents in incidents like the 2015 Seshachalam encounter, where 20 Tamil men were killed in a suspected staged police encounter. This is a space where grief meets solidarity and healing begins.
