When a Shoplifter Claims Police Harassment – A Body Cam Breakdown

This is a closer look at a shoplifting investigation that happened on February 27, 2024 in Florida. An officer had approached a woman who matched the description of a suspected shoplifter. Target had reported that a woman with black hair and red braids dressed in all black had selected a bag from within the store and began putting merchandise from the electronics department into the bag. The woman had exited the store without paying and was asked by loss prevention to return the merchandise, but the woman ignored the request and continued into the parking lot. When the first officer arrived in the area, he found the suspect outside of a nearby restaurant.
