On June 30, 2024, deputies from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the Town of Lafayette, WI. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies immediately detected the odor of marijuana. He was asked to exit the vehicle but the driver refused and fled, prompting a pursuit that spanned several miles and required assistance from multiple agencies. The chase ended when the driver lost control and crashed. Despite the driver’s repeated attempts to explain his actions, a search of his vehicle soon uncovered the true reason for his flight.
