“CID crime is the nodal agency for the prevention of special cyber financial frauds… If we look at the data of the last 4 years, we received 23,000 complaints in 2020. It has now increased to 1,09,000 in 2023. In 2024, till now we have received around 41,000 complaints. The cybercrime is increasing. Public awareness is important to avoid this… As soon as the victims contact the police, we will be able to protect, put on hold and freeze their money,” said Pandian.
