SLG | Whistleblowing and Retaliation Laws (Part 1)

Whistleblowing is when an employee complains about or reports allegedly unlawful activity in the workplace to their employer. For example, an employee may complain about wage and hour violations or an unsafe work condition.

Employers must take these complaints seriously and respond accordingly. Otherwise, if an employee pursues this complaint in court, the employee would be entitled to damages, penalties, and attorneys’ fees.
