Shocking moment ‘crazed’ man attacks police officer at busy Sydney pub | Daily Mail

Confronting footage has emerged of a policeman being assaulted during an unprovoked attack in broad daylight in front of stunned pub patrons.

CCTV obtained by 2GB showed the officer entering the pub and looking around when he was suddenly confronted by a ‘crazed’ man running out of an elevator, who charged towards him and pushed the sergeant into a wall.

Stunned patrons standing just metres away were seen watching on before a Good Samaritan eventually intervened and helped restrain the man until additional officers arrived.

The man, 32, was sedated by paramedics and taken to hospital. He was taken into custody when he was discharged the following day. He was charged with assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty, causing actual bodily harm, and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
