On July 26, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Police Officer Vincent Guastini responded to Pier 13, 1301 Sinatra Dr., on reports of a dispute. When he arrived, bystanders pointed at an individual, later identified as 41-year-old Bruno Bernet of Saddle River, who was screaming at security staff and waving his arms around in an aggressive state. Sgt. Dennis Figueroa and Police Officers Enrico Gnassi and David Smentkowski arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene investigation determined Bernet was asked to leave the establishment by employees due to boisterous and disorderly behavior. Bernet continued to scream and curse. At one point he screamed and pointed his finger at the face of an officer. He was told if he didn’t leave, he would be arrested. He challenged an officer to a fight, and he was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bernet was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed, and released with a summons.
These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
