National Gathering for International Day Against Police Brutality

Unceded and Unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe Territory (Ottawa, ON) – On March 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, community members, advocates, victims, and families impacted by police violence gathered together at the University of Ottawa for a National Gathering in Honour of the International Day Against Police Brutality.

The event amplified the voices of those affected by police violence, gave space to demand justice for those who have been harmed or lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement, and to share examples of community-led responses to advance social justice and prevent further harm from the policing system. The gathering included a community dinner and networking to build solidarity, healing, and collective action.
