Man storms into a police station and opens fire after his friend dies in custody.

On February 23, 2022, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 20-year-old Kayson Thomas was stopped for a traffic violation and later arrested after officers discovered an outstanding theft warrant. While in custody, Thomas secretly consumed drugs, including substances he had hidden on his body. Despite admitting drug use, officers did not take him to the hospital. Hours later, he was found unresponsive in his cell and died from acute mixed drug intoxication. The incident sparked outrage and investigations. A friend later opened fire at a police station but was arrested. Several officers faced charges, and Thomas’s family filed a lawsuit.
